Audra-

I heard the same thing about carbonated anything! All DrAtkins says

is that it would be beneficial to break the caffeine addiction while

on the Induction phase, but I dont think it's because of the way it

affects the diet..he just encourages people to break addictions (I

think). But I heard somewhere else that carbonated drinks are harder

for the body to break down and that they do indeed slow the loss

down. I went ahead and gave up Diet sodas and I only drink lemon tap

water or Crystal Light. It's probably just an individual

thing...probably hurts some people's loss, doesn't affect others. I

think it hurts mine because when i do have the occasional Diet Dr

Pepper or Diet coke, I feel soooo bloated, so I prefer not to drink

them too often. But Dr Atkins says you can have them on our diet,

and I doubt he would have said that if they made too much of a

difference.-
