Guest guest
Hi Cindi, Welcome to the group! My son has had 2 doc bands, we've done 3 paintings and some stickers, so I'll give you some of our tips. First painting was done with acrylics and clear sealer only. Looked great, peeled off within 3 weeks. Ok choice if you want to change the painting every few weeks. 2nd time, my husband primed it with Rustoleum plastic primer, then acrylics and clear sealer again. This time not one chip. For Aidan's 2nd band, I've only used stickers, which will peel off within a few days if you don't put anything on top. Good luck, please post some pics of your cutie pie! & Aidan in CT 15 months doc band #2 11/9/04 --- In Plagiocephaly , " Dornellas " <dornella@b...> wrote: > Hello ~ > > New to group. We got our Starband (white) helmet today for our DD - think she's going to do well with it (she also has a mild-moderate hearing impairment so has hearing aids too (poor girl). Anyway, she has a great temperment and am hoping this will help her throught the helmet-wearing process. > > I'm a pretty creative one so wanted the 'white' helmet. I'm not decided on if I'll do stickers/mod podge or paint...but am wanting to do this tomorrow and take advantage of the fact that she's not in the helmet 23 hours a day yet. > > Welcoming input from those that have perfected the art of painting the helmet; specifically Starband. Type of paints (I have lots in- house already from fabric to acrylics), process (sealing), avoiding chips. She'll probalby only have to wear the helmet 3-4 months (mild plagio) so want to do it once and really cute if I do end up painting it (versus stickers). Or, ideally, want to do a combo of painting and stickers. > > Thanks in advance for your help! > > ~Cindi
