Guest guest
Jill, As we understood it is any fever at any temp above normal the band should be removed. Our son has been in his band for 5 months and there have been a couple of times we have had it off for two to three days and he is still progressing appropriately. Guest guest
Everyone already answered your temperature question....so I just wanted to pipe in on the Tylenol. If you don't want to give her Tylenol, that is OK. If you ask a pediatrician, they would most likely say that the only real reasons to treat elevated temperatures are 1) the child is uncomfortable due to fever--typically has to be higher than 100 or 2) prevent febrile seizures if your child is at risk--which typically only happen when fever rises high quickly. Basically, give her some tylenol if she seems at all out of sorts to you, otherwise you don't need to give her medicine (IMHO) (mom to Georgia, Starband) -----Original Message-----From: Plagiocephaly [mailto:Plagiocephaly ] On Behalf Of meg_vespaSent: Tuesday, November 01, 2005 3:33 PMPlagiocephaly Subject: fever and DOC bandMy daughter has a cold and is in her 4th week of her DOC band. I haven't taken her temperature while she was well with the DOC band, so I don't know if her current temp of 100 is due to the DOC band making her hot, or if it's really a fever. Does anyone know if the DOC band raises the body temp? I want to know if this temp reading is accurate and if I should be giving her tylenol, taking her to the dr, etc. If the elevated temp is just from the DOC band, I don't want to be pumping her with tylenol!!! Has anyone taken their child's temp when they weren't sick? Thanks!megan
