Guest guest
Well, the first full day in the band went quite well. We were doing two hours on, one hour off, and he was a bit miserable whenever I put it on or took it off (need more practice at stretching it out as far as possible), but it only lasted for a minute or so, then he was distracted enough to find something else to think about. There are a couple of small red spots, but nothing very deep red, and I don't think they are anything to worry about at all. He sweated loads, despite being in short sleeves, lightweight trousers, and no socks (this is Autumn in England, don't forget!) so I probably need to lose the vest/bodysuit as well tomorrow. Is anyone's baby in a sleeping bag (Grobag)? What tog do you use and what clothing with it? At the moment, Toby's bedroom is usually about 18 degrees, and before the STARband he's been in a bodysuit, sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog Grobag. I will definitely lose the sleepsuit, and move to a lower tog Grobag (either 1 tog or 0.5 tog), but I don't know how much clothing to put on with it. It's probably going to be trial and error, but if anyone has any experience they can share with me, I'd love to hear what your little ones sleep in. By the way, I've added a photo to his folder of Toby in the STARband. (It was the first time he wore it once it had been adjusted so he's still looking a bit miserable!!) Guest guest
, Today is our first day in a Starband. It went much better than expected. I hope Toby continues to do well! Guest guest
Hi ...I'm so glad to hear that Toby is adjusting well to his band. If things keep going this well as you ease him into his 23- hours-a-day wear, he'll have no problems. And as far as the sweating, it will take a little time for his body temperature to adjust to having the band on. He will regulate and then he won't sweat as much. For now, just dry his head off good when his band is off, wipe the inside of the band with rubbing alcohol, and let it dry all the way before you put it back on him. Keep an eye out for any red spots thatlast more than an hour. Soundslike so far you haven't had any problems with that. Your Toby sounds like a real trooper, and I looked at his pictures, and he's cute as a button! Happy rounding, Toby! Guest guest
Hi Sounds like Toby is doing brilliantly! As for the grobag question, I usually put Lucia in a 1 tog with either a longsleeved all-in-one or a pair of pyjamas- though our flat is reasonably warm (as very small!). You could try that for a day or two. Am enjoying a hols at my mums and the attendant babycare facilities!!!! Nice to put my feet up.
