Hello all

we have managed to get an appointment with Dr Blecher / Dr Bentley in

London on 01.11.04 at 10 am which is great. At the moment we are still

trying to reposition Yannick (almost 5 months now). We have been doing

this for just over 5 weeks now and my Mom who has not seen Yannick for

a while thinks he has improved ! We will still see Dr Blecher in

November though to get his opinion.

Just a footnote: we initially saw our GP on the 10.08. who wrote us a

referral to a paediatrician the same day. We just got back from

holiday and found a letter from our hospital advising us we have been

placed on a non urgent waiting list and they would write to us again 6

weeks before an appointment would become available. We should not have

to wait any longer than 17 weeks !! I will phone them tomorrow and

tell them not to bother -- what a joke !

(mom to Matika 3 1/2 yrs and Yannick 4 1/2 months , plagio, currently

repositioning)

Hi ,

I'm glad you got an appointment-you really have to book those inital

appointments ahead now- he's so (too?) busy. You are doing

brilliantly with repoing Yannick- it might be he doesn't need a

helmet, or it might be you decide to go for one, but it will correct

quicker. Either way, you really seem on top of the situation.

Keep us updated- he's a great age to get correction.

Hello

yes, we are trying to stay sane and try to filter out

the information that is (or might be) relevant to our

situation. All the medical people we came across face

to face so far didn't have a clue, so we had to do

all the work on our own which mainly consisted of

surfing the net. With great success so far.

Being German myself I have high hopes regarding Dr

Blecher. I can speak German with him which might help

me understand facts and fiction much better and might

help to make an educated decision. I believe by the

time we get to see Dr Blecher Yannick might have

improved to a degree that it will come down to the

much feared " it's up to you " rather than a " I

recommend a helmet " or " I don't think a helmet is

necessary " .

We are quite lucky as especially my family in Germany

also agrees that Yannick's head shape is not normal

and should be investigated. Nobody said we are just

imagining things or we are just trying to find

faults...especially my mom is a great help. She keeps

encouraging us to pursue the matter and seek

specialist medical advice. Just like myself she keeps

visiting the german plagio chat board which is also

visited by Dr Blecher and he answers directly to

parents posts there, so I find that very interesting

and helpful, but again I try to filter the wealth of

information in order to stay focused on Yannick and

his condition and progress, which is not always easy.

Once the appointment has come and gone I will report

back on the outcome

Hi ,

You're very lucky to have your family pushing you and

I wish you luck

with the progress.

I would be really interested to join the German Plagio

board. Could

you give me the address of the web page? Thanks
