Guest guest
Hi Terri, My baby also just received her band at 5.5 months. She had trouble too with naps and sleeping for the first few days but now is perfectly fine with it. I'm sure Miles will be too! As long as we knew there were no areas irritating the skin, we just stood strong and comforted her instead of taking the band off...she adjusted quickly! First time mommy and first time learning about the Plagiocephaly. My 5.5 mo old son, Miles, was diagnosed at 4 months and banded this past Wed, Nov 24th. Although he does not seem to mind the band during the day, Nap times and bedtime are a different story. Miles bats at his DOC band continually and shifts around constantly in his crib seemingly unable to find a comfortable position. Will this subside in the next few days or has anyone found a solution to make his or her chilf more comfortable while sleeping in the band. Thanks!TerriFor more plagio info
Guest guest
Kennedy was restless the first couple of nights too, but now does not seem to notice her band is there. She is 6 months old. We got our band on Tuesday. Hope Miles adjusts quickly and welcome to the group! It is a great group of people. Guest guest
Thanks Jill. Don't mind the typo's, Miles is here with me. We'll be strong. He too has the DOC band, (I know there are several). We check for red areas and so far the redness does clear up in an hour. It's just so hard seeing him cry so much because he has always been so easy going. We'll make it work. Thanks again. Guest guest
Hi Terri, Welcome to the group. It's been very quiet this weekend due to the US holiday. I'm sure others will chime in Monday, It's not unusual for Miles to need a little more time adjusting to sleeping in the band. I would double check he's not too hot. The bands keep them pretty warm especially the first few days as their internal thermostats adjust. I would dress him down, take off the socks or switch to lighter pjs. Is it possible he is teething or has a cold? I only ask because of his age and it's starting to be cold season (dd and I both have one - ugh). Ok so if it really doesn't seem to be any other baby issue than it could be exactly what you said. He just can't get comfortable. These kiddos get so used to sleeping on their flat spots that when it becomes round it's a whole new feeling. I imagine in a few days he will get used to it and go back to normal sleep habits. Keep us posted. mom to na DOC Grad 2/04 SCt_levitan <t_levitan@...> wrote: Hi Everyone, First time to your site. First time mommy and first time learning about the Plagiocephaly.
