I am the resident CT cheerleader, I think, after what they did for my

wonky boy, but I'll try to be objective. I really really doubt you

will need a second band to correct a problem caused by the first one.

I have never heard of that happening with CT, although I have heard a

couple of horror stories about inexperienced orthos at other

facilities.

It seems to me the head is supposed to be flatter on the sides where

the velcro part is. Could it be that the back is getting rounder and

making the temple look flatter? You are the mommy and should trust

your instincts. I hope CT can sort things out. Keep us updated!

Couple questions for you ... Has CT seen the area in question or

have you just spoken about it over the phone? Which CT office are

you at? Where is your son's flat spot? back right or back left? is

the velcro on the flat side (ie. left for flat back left)? These are

all just for my clarification.

It could most likely be one of 2 things. I'll explain in terms of my

dd, na. She had flat back left protruding front ight temple.

Her velcro was on the left. As the back of her head rounded it

appeared the area by the velcro was inded getting flatter. It was an

optical ollusion (sp?). What was happening was her head was getting

rounder in the back which was making that area appear even flatter in

comparison. It wasn't until I asked the therapist about it and

compared her current head shape to the mold that I could see it. Her

only remaining flat area now (7 months post graduation) is behind the

left ear - but at this point it is cosmetic becasue her cranial base

has been corrected.

Now the other " issue " around the velcro is fluid build-up. A little

bulge appears in the opening which again makes the area right behind

the opening appear very flat. na had this too. It dissipated

fully within 1-2 months of graduation or possibly sooner, I didn't

record the date when I didn't notice it anymore.

Does this help? Please bring it up at your next appointment. Ask to

see the head mold if it's available. Let us know how it goes.
