Guest guest
Me again. I actually had an emergency visit to my pain doc today because of the right side electrode. The stem has been eroding through my skin for the last several months and the doctors have known that it needs to be fixed. Today I could feel the end of it, like a large splinter in you finger and the tip of it sticking out. Now they have to do something quick! I was sent to my PCP to make sure I did not have an infection yet and get base line blood tests. At the same time I was seeing him for restless leg syndrome. I couldn't help but wonder if the stimulator was causing the restless leg. My PCP said it wasn't the stimulator, so I was put on yet another medication. But I don't know as of yet as to " if " I have an infection. If it becomes red and swollen around the stem, I have to go the E.R. immediately. That scares me, because someone someone without any experience with this kind of implant could be the one that is removing it. With all of that said, the neuro-stimulator is worth it. If I can get through this, I wold do it again! I mean, if they remove it and I can let it heal and then have it done again, I will. Honestly, when it is working it is great!!! I wish I didn't have this trouble now. It seems like everything I do has complications.
