Guest guest
(((((((())))))) That is aweful that you can't get the instant release codiene. I take that type which works so much better than the time release. The longer acting meds usually stop working 1 to 2 hrs before the average. I also take a muscle relaxer and I have Tramadol for break through pain. I have taken neurotin for pain. It works well for that burning (nerve) pain. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about trying something else instead of the morphine. I tried morphine and it did much less to relieve my pain than the oxycodene. Maybe part of the problem is that the morphine is not as effective, especially if you were taking codiene within. I am sorry I can't give you more suggestions. Hoping you get relief soon. Guest guest
Dear : I've been taking percocet (oxycodone with aceteminophen) for more than 6 years now. I take 10/325 mgs every 5 hours. It barely takes the edge off the pain, so my doctor tried me on Opana (oxymorphone) to see if it would be an alternative. It didn't cause the stomach upset the percocet does and although the 1 pill didn't work quite as well as the percocet, it did work. I am back on the percocet, but your doctor might be able to get you on a dosage or Opana that would work for your breakthrough pain. Might be worth inquiring. Good luck. I hope you are able to get some relief soon. - PA
