Guest guest
Thanks Alice! I truly am very excited. I have been so heavy for so long. I can't play with my kids even when they feel well. I have a hard time walking from my classroom to the staff room without sounding like a Mac truck. And then there is my knee. I need surgery on it, but they won't do it until I loose they weight cause I will just blow through it again. I hurt it while at my Parents house last week again so I am in a lot of pain. Thanks for cheering me on! Hugs O
Guest guest
Thanks for cheering me on! , No thanks are necessary. You deserve to be cheered on. What you are doing takes a great deal of courage and personal conviction. Just because you have the surgery doesn't mean that the problem is all solved. You still have to do the follow up. You are a very strong person and I am sure you will reap the rewards of your efforts. Alice

I guess I am going to be the Mito guinea pig for this surgery. The Fobi pouch is reversible, that is why we have chosen that one. They are going to be following me closely for sure. If I am successful with this, it may be an answer for some other Mito severely over weight people. Pray for me and my success. It is a huge risk I am aware of, but I am also at a bigger risk staying the size I am. My body is having a lot of trouble due to the weight. If we can fix the weight and stay in control by giving my body the energy food it only needs, we will all be winners. If not I am fully prepared to have it undone. So everyone out there I would appreciate your prayers and support as I undergo this. Pray for my family to stay well while I recoup, and for my husband who is scared to death. I am actually excited to death about it. I will be having surgery on the 7th of August. Anyone want to take care of my children while I am having this? Auntie Elleen? LOL Thanks guys for being here for me. If all goes well within the year I could have lost over 100 lbs. I have 200 lbs that is needed to be lost, but we are going to go slow at it as I will need certain food to stay healthy. So here we go!!!!!! One for me and one for the Mito world!Huge Hugs, from the side after August 7th LOL O Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
Wow .. This is really some news. I spoke with a woman at my house today who has had the same procedure. She lost well over 100 lbs and despite some problems with ulcers, said she would do it over again in a minute. You know we will be rooting you on with this procedure. It was easy to read thru the lines to know how badly you want this. When I had the CI surgery, most people wanted me to forgo it (some of them you know) and just live with the deafness. I was so excited about it and still say that it was probably one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I do understand how you feel. Hugs and wishes for all your best dreams to come true. <smile> Alice

Guest guest
, I am so very glad to hear that you have discussed it with Dr. Cohen before going through with it. I also think I understand some of your fear and excitement at the prospect too. The fact that it is reversible is REALLY a mind easing fact. I will have you in my thoughts and prayers and if I hadn't just gone back to work after my medical, your kids might have been fun to have around for a while. Well, I guess we would have a little travel issue involved too. Thinking of you, mitooggo@... wrote: > > , > > Thanks for your concern, and Yes I have talked it over with DR Cohen in detail.
