Guest guest
, It's totally normal to be feeling a little freaked out right about now. On one hand you are anxious to be over with his treatment (as he is), but on the other you are worried he hasnt had enough time to take advantage of the full rounding potential. To top that off there is that ever haunting regression fear all of us have to come to terms with. Need I say more? I know several members were quite pleased with the rounding from their Cranio Caps. I hear that this type of helmet is based on growth so another two weeks may capture another growth spurt. Sure wouldnt hurt to keep it on him as long as it fits. Hopefully other members will answer your question about the mold pouring. Please don't fret about regression if he's a tummy sleeper. Diaper changing and short car trips won't do anything either (I still have the noggin nest in our carseat though). You could always get a large foam peice for his seats when he's in them, just for your peace of mind. Guest guest
Hi , I can understand your mixed feelings. The helmet is like a security blanket! I'm sure it will become clearer and easier as the days go by. I am still rolling Colin off of his back when I see him on it at night and he is 12 mos. old! I'm sure if you keep up with repo (to whatever extent possible) he will continue to improve without the helmet. You sound very conscientious about it. Good luck and pleeeease post " after " pics. If you want them set up like Colin F., please let me know and I would be glad to help you with that (the 4 in 1 shot). Guest guest
, He's going to be out of his helmet before MacKenzie gets hers! No fair, we won't be able to play the staring game with curious onlookers! Anyways, I can see why you are worried. I read these boards everyday and I listen to everyone talk about second and third bands and regression and it scares me too, (and we haven't even gotten ours yet!). Is it all worth it when they can't guarantee that it will " stick " and they might end up banding again? It just seems so discouraging, we all want the quick fix and no backpedaling. I guess maybe becuase we read all the bad on here and don't hear a lot about from the parents who have been done and moved on. There aren't alot of them posting here, they probabley quit the boards. Thanks to the mods and everyone who hangs around even when their babies have graduated to tell us what we need to know and help us on this path. Can we please hear from parents who have graduated and the correction has " stuck " . I think we need to hear the positive stories, lol. Guest guest
Hi ...My is a repo baby, so having not been in your place I don't think I have any advice that would make you feel better. I just wanted to tell you I feel for you and I can undersatnd how you would be nervous about your son's graduation. I mea nwith the band onhe was guaranteed to round or at least maintain. If your fear, though, is regression, that happens in such a small percent of people that you most likely won't have anything to worry about. You will have moments later that you look at his head and think he has regressed, we have all had those moments, but it's just nerves and we eventually relax. Of course, if you see room for more improvement, what could it hurt to ask about it? Let us know how things are going. Becky ('s mom) in Pgh, PA > Wow....who would have thought this would go so fast! Guest guest
, I had a feeling he would be out of it before she was in it! We can still meet up and Milan can wear a funny hat You have a good point about parents not coming back w/ positive feedback from parents who graduated and had no regression. I am sure I will be lurking around here for awhile! It has become part of my daily routine to check boards, I can't stop cold turkey I will post pics asap. Lets still keep in touch also. > > Wow....who would have thought this would go so fast! Guest guest
Becky, I think that there is some room for improvement on the back of his head, but both the OT and my DH feel it is time to stop. I think everyone is ready for it to be done but me...I am sure I will stare at his head for a long time and 'think' I see regression. Either way, his head shape is much much better than before! Thanks, > > Wow....who would have thought this would go so fast!
