Guest guest
Generally, it is pretty easy to peel off a design. Just use a fingernail nrear the edge to loosen it and strips can be peeled. If not, and I can't imagine a varnish so hard (if there is one, let me know!!) It would be fine to prime/paint over and existing design. The trick is to use a VERY thin coat of primer and several THIN coarts of paint. If it is too thick, it will peel too easily. The decorating tips in the files link are very good. At CT in Dallas I once saw a mom who had someone who painted " real " motorcycle helmets do her son's band. I am guessing it was air-brushed as it had the same feel as a football or motorcycle helmet. It was amazing. That is the only one I've ever seen which didn't look like it would peel with a little effort. > > I was chatting in the chat room last night and we quickly talked > about my choice of what i picked for my sons helmet. Guest guest
Hi Amy I think that would be a good question for the ortho. They know what you can or can't use on the specific helmets/bands. How did everything go? Casting/Scanning??? Guest guest
Gosh, I have no idea if you could paint over the pattern transfer! Is there anyway you could change your order to just a plain white band? Then you could to a Patriots helmet , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad 7/29 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " emjsmum " <kaparent@c...> wrote: > > I was chatting in the chat room last night and we quickly talked > about my choice of what i picked for my sons helmet. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, Thanks for asking about the scanning. Thats what Hanger used a sort of scan gun. It was so amazing. I had to pick a design from a book and now that I think about it, I am not sure if I am going to like it. I hope I do, but I will ask his ortho when we pcik up the helmet hopefully next week what we can do if we just absolutley hate the design. You think the ortho will think I am nuts being anal about what his helmet looks like? Amy > > Hi Amy > I think that would be a good question for the ortho. Guest guest
Hi Amy I just read your posting and I had the same question. We were really overhwelmed when we were going through everything and just sort of picked something. I am hoping we can change our son's as well. Could you let me know if you find out an answer? Thanks. - > > > > > > I was chatting in the chat room last night and we quickly talked > > > about my choice of what i picked for my sons helmet.
