lyn,

If you really want to volunteer, you might want to check with your local

school system. I am a teacher and I have a couple of volunteers who have health

issues who just come when they can, and I am so grateful for any help they can

give.

Of course I have pain issues myself so totally understand what they are going

through. But I just appreciate the days when they can come in and my students

are so loving and wanting help that they don't mind if the adult comes once a

month or whenever.

Anyway, you sound like you would be so good at helping and I'd just like to

encourage others who would like to do something. Somethings others are willing

to accept your help on your terms because they are so needy. You just don't

know until you offer and you might be surprised.

I even have people sometimes who volunteer to get crafts ready for the kids.

They can't help at school but can do things at their homes when they feel up to

it. I know I'd snap you up in a minute if you were close to me!
