Good Morning Everyone,

I read your post Ginger, I would like to chat with you. We are both from SC

I have been reading all of your post about joints hurting. I have had

hardly any pain for about 6 months and then Lately I've started having them

in my shoulders and neck. I did not know if It was just a flair up of my

whip lash or is it the AIh? I would appreciate an;y input my Friends.

Have a blessed day.

Hi all,

I called my doctor and asked if I could be switched from Levoxyl to

another medication. I didn't talk to him but a nurse. I said that I

was having reactions to it in that I was very moody ( flat-out

depressed now), I had no energy, and am gaining weight.

His responce was, " up your Levoxyl to .075 to every day except twice

a week.

Okay, what do you think? Should I give him the BOTD and see him in

person or should I just go ahead and switch doctors?

Guys, I hate to sound like a whiny thing but I am absolutely

miserable. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning, I have no

energy, FORGET going to the gym and I have to " entertain " my 2 year

old( who also has a party this weekend I've got to round up and I'm

NOT in the mood for this). I give up, I'm flat-out depressed. I

truthfully haven't felt " whole " in 4 months. I hear about all these

people who have switched meds and are doing SO much better now and

I'm wondering if this could be me too. Could I actually BE happy and

have Hashi's- is it possible?

Well, anyway, I need your opinion about this doctor thing. My

husbands wanting me to get a 2nd opinion - NOT possible on an HMO SO

I'm going to just switch.

Thanks for listening to my babbling.

: Hi, increase your dosage to 0.1 mg or 0.2 mgs a day and do less

exercise, work out 3 times a week if you can coz i've noticed that an excess

of exercise combined + levothyroxine can burn too many calories which can

make u fatigued/depressed/bored....try that if u can ;-)

I'm due for my one month appointment on the 27th. The last bloodwork

done was back in July and it wasn't great:

TSH : 6.46

(free) T4 - 1.1

He upped to me to what I'm doing currently: alternating 75 mcg's and

50mcg's.

I can only HOPE I'm back down in the 3's for this month's reading.

Decrease me workout???? Hah! That's a laugh. I don't workout right

now as it is. That's the problem - I don't have the energy to get out

of bed in the a.m. to go to the gym. I need to INCREASE my workout to

3 days a week.

Actually, I think I've figured out what will get rid of the

depression and boredom - STAY BUSY. I'm not talking book reading

busy, I mean...physically running around trying to get errands done.

I did this today and my depression seemed to have lifted. I think

that's what I need - regimen. Like I said before, my body seems to

THRIVE on regimen. I think Celeste posted something about this

earlier.

If you want us to believe that you're smart then why would you post a

message like the one below? There's a big difference between being

smart and being a smartass. IMHO your message below is in the smartass

category.

so right now you're taking 50 one day and 75 the next? I've never heard of

that..... so, now he wants you to take the 75 one or two more times per

week? That seems subtle, especially with your TSH being so high. I've

definitely felt the way you feel and I didn't have a kid, so I can't even

imagine that (I Have one on the way though and hope it doesn't come back -

but you never know with Hashi's). I would go on your instinct with the dr

switch. If you don't feel that he's meeting your overall needs, then I

would definitely switch or at least start doing research on other docs (call

and ask the nurse questions about a prospective dr's views on things that

are important to you). Then you can stay with this doc until you find a

better one. Have you tried looking on the top doc list to see if others

have suggested a dr. in your area. I think it's on thyroid.about.com and

then top doc is listed on the left. Well hopefully you're having fun at

your son's party. Keep us posted :)

I wrote to you before. You are getting incredibly poor medical treatment,

it doesn't make sense to remain sick when it is easy to be well. Find a

doc who doesnt treat by numbers and will give you T3. This makes a world of

Yep Gracia, I believe you are right. When I've been looking for my

docs I've been specifically looking for a doc who will prescribe

ANYTHING but Levoxyl. I just know SOMETHING has to change.....I'd

like to try it, it can't be any worse than I am now!!! LOL

I'm going to check out that site too for the info on the drug.

Hi All,

I just posted pics of lyse in the Our Plagio Kids under lyse. If you have a chance please look at them and tell me what you think about the shape of her head. I took the photos last night. I plan on taking new photos each week to see if repo seems to be working.

Thanks in advance.

OMGoodness she is so precious! Look at those cheeks! Thank you for

sharing them! Now I am no expert, but in my humble opinion I think

that her plagio, if you even want to call it that, is mild at best.

I think that with repo you are going to get great results and will

not need a helmet at all (just looking at her pictures, I'm not right

there with you of course). Keep up the great work! I hope you don't

lose too much sleep. If you stay on top of repo as much as I think

you will she will be home free!!! Please keep us posted and thank you

again.

She is very cute!!!!! As for her head, it looks beautiful to me...my

dear son is quite lopsided to comparatively speaking, hers looks so

round. I think you are smart to take regular pictures. I wish I had

taken more in the beginning.

Given the fact that she is starting daycare next week and you don't

think repositioning will be possible, I would recommend you to

investigate getting a band. I hate to say that since she's so young,

but at least you'll be prepared for it.

It can take a while to get insurance approved and find a practitioner

so that may by you some time with hoping she will round out more on

her own. That blasted tort doesn't make repo very easy does it?

The good news is that she's at a great age for treatment.

Good luck next week returning to work :)

I faced the same thing with my son when I went back to

work. He was in the mod/severe category with plagio

but with very mild tort. I created a sheet of tips for

daycare, including pictures of how he was to be

positioned. They did a pretty good job but it wasn't

me (who was keeping him off his flat spot 24/7). So my

advice would be to go over repo stuff with them,

provide them any repo tools you use i.e. sleep

positioner (which I used for playing on the gym mat,

kept him on his side and he could reach for stuff that

way), give them directions. My husband and I also

staggered our schedules so he was in daycare less (he

got dropped off at 9am and picked up by 4pm). While we

did all that with daycare, we worked on getting the

band. Because of the age, I would pursue a band as

suggested -- the length of time to get

approval, etc. -- and see how they do with repoing

her.

Hi ,

Kaitlyn is adorable (that name was on our short list). She has soo

much hair. I see the brachy you are talking about. It's definitely

not severe. It's probably around 2 standard deviations which is

borderline banding - however I'm not very good at brachy assessments

just my guess.

Like said the daycare and tort factors may be your biggest

push to get her banded young. Will daycare be able to do any of her

tort streches or sit her in a exercauser or bumbo seat or make sure

she gets tummy time? One of the mom's on here actually bought her

daycare a bumbo seat. Granted exercausers and bumbos aren't best for

tort babies but when they have plagio and brachy it's the lesser of 2

evils. Some moms have found their daycare providers to be very

accomodating when they sat down and explained everything to them. I

think we even have some " instruction " sheets in the files section.

I don't think getting a professional evaluation (at an ortho not

neuro) would be a waste of time. I think it would be very helpful.

It takes awhile to get insurance stuff and if they said she was

borderline give it another 2 months then you could always wait. My

2nd dd will go to CT for a consult on 10/24. She has tort and is

probably very mild plagio but I need the peace of mind :)

Do you know of any orthos in your area? Some Hanger and STARband

orthos also provide free evaluations like CT does. Just ask.

Keep us posted.

Hi ,

Kaitlyn is adorable (that name was on our short list). She has soo

much hair. I see the brachy you are talking about. It's definitely

not severe. It's probably around 2 standard deviations which is

borderline banding - however I'm not very good at brachy assessments

just my guess.
