Guest guest
Ct Doc band was paid 100% by UHC for us but my daughter was born with Plagio and Tort and I've been told that was the reason. It depends on what they decide are the criteria for approval when they are reviewing your claim. Lorraine. Guest guest
Where are you located? None of these are CT locations. Your best bet would be to call each of them and ask if they offer a pediatric cranial orthosis? If so which brand/model? How much experieince do they have treating patients (in # patients total or # new patients/month). For comparison the CT office in Charlotte, NC casts 50-60 new children each month. What training do they have? Can they give you some references? If their answers are unsatisfactory or you find they do not offer the service you are looking for you may be able to petition your insurance to cover CT at in-network. We can help with the paperwork. Let us know how your research goes? mom to na DOC Grad 2/04 SC --- In Plagiocephaly , " dperino28 " <dperino28@y...> wrote: > > I looked on line at my insurace web page and i found these places > listed for in network. Guest guest
Hi D, Do you know if any or all of these facilities offer cranial banding, or if they are just listed DME providers? The only facility name I have heard of, of the 3 you listed is Hanger, and even then, I wasn't aware of that specific NJ location. Of the many, many orthotics facilities nationwide, only a very few offer cranial banding. For example, Hanger is a huge O & P company with over 600 locations in the US. Only a small minority of the 600 offer cranial banding, and only a small percentage of that minority have ANY experience with cranial banding. Have you given any of them a call yet? There are some good links to lists of questions for the ortho if you come across a location that does offer cranial banding. You should also ask what exact brand(s) of helmets/band they offer: Cranial Tech's Questions to Ask the Doctor or Orthotist: The quality of treatment available varies widely for children with plagiocephaly. One way to avoid pitfalls is to be aware of them. Print this page and use it for your research. http://www.cranialtech.com/Treatment/selecting.html Orthomerica's Questions for Parents to Ask a Prospective Orthotist Feel free to print out this list of questions and refer to them during your initial consultation with the orthotist. Establishing and maintaining open lines of communication will enhance yours and your child's experience with a cranial remolding orthosis. http://www.orthomerica.com/products/cranial/cranial_questions.htm Questions To Ask The Doctor and Orthotist/Clinician Once an official diagnosis is made and a course of treatment is planned, many children are referred to an Orthotist or Treatment Facility in order to obtain cranial orthosis. Here is a list of questions to ask the Orthotist/Clinician. http://www.cappskids.org/QuestionsForTheDoctorAndOrthotist.htm Questions for the Doctor It is important to ask any questions that concern you. WRITE DOWN the questions you want to ask, and take a pen (or a mini tape recorder) with you so you can write down the answers given. Here are some suggested questions for you doctor and/or orthotist. Please feel free to print this page... http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support/questions.htm If it turns out that none of these DME locations offer cranial banding, then you'll have to go out of network to get to a qualified ortho that does provide an FDA approved helmet or band. Have you been to the database section of the group? There are 4 locations listed in New Jersey so far that offer helmets/bands. Perhaps you could give them a call, and interview them as well. Would you let us know what you find out? Maybe someone in the group actually has gone to one of these 3 locations and will provide feedback.
