Guest guest
Be careful; after anywhere from a few applications (gentian violet) to years of use (Betadine) I developed a severe reaction to these products. Now just being exposed to them once causes severe burning, swelling, redness and cracking of the skin. I can't get the doctor to call me back about my Sacchromyces cerevisae yeast infection, so I'm looking at other home remedies. (S. cerevisae is resistant to azole drugs such as Monistat and Diflucan.) One I've heard about is potassium sorbate, which is used in brewing to stop yeast from fermenting the beer. I believe it's available in a douche form called Orithrush D. If I can't find it at my local natural foods store, I'll order it off the Net. On the other hand, maybe I should have learned a lesson from my reaction to the aforementioned topical remedies I've tried. Since I believe the yeast is also in my colon, I think I the best treatment would be an oral drug such as Ancobon, but, of course, I need a doctor who's willing to prescribe it (or at least call me back to talk about it). Guest guest
hi zig, perhaps you could try " sporonox " (not sure how that's spelt) as an oral yeast treatment. would it be worthwhile trying another doctor at your surgery? at my surgery sometimes the nurse can perscribe certain drugs so ask them too. keep hassling your doctor. kay --- zigmissus wrote: --------------------------------- Be careful; after anywhere from a few applications (gentian violet) to years of use (Betadine) I developed a severe reaction to these products.
