Guest guest
Hi , So sorry for the delay, I've been out of town. We are in the Danbury area, I don't have any experience with Children's. We saw Dr. Shin at Yale New Haven for the prescription for Aidan's doc band. We use Cranial Tech in Clinton. I cannot say enough great things about them. I would definitely find out how many children have been treated at Children's for the hanger band. Many people have had great results with the hanger band, but alot depends on the experience of the ortho. With Cranial Tech/Doc Band, you are dealing with one product and ortho's that are specifically trained to deal with plagio. For us personally, we have a 90 minute (one way) drive to Clinton, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, as I feel it is the best treatment available. Another thing to consider is cost, I don't know the cost of the hanger band, but I believe it is less than the doc band ($3000). We were EXTREMELY lucky in that our insurance (Cigna) paid for both bands at 90%. At 5 months is a great age to receive correction. The process of getting evaluated, getting a prescription, going through the insurance, etc. can take quite some time so it's great that you have your appointments already set up! I can give you the contact info for Yale if you need it. Please don't hesitate to ask lots of questions, everyone here is great. Best of luck and please keep us posted.
