I warn you, this is going to get confusing...but this is how my son's hearing aids are set up. He's got Phonak SonoForte AZs (analog programmables) that come with a remote control. I never take the boots off (except when one fell off a couple of weeks ago, right Daphne??). OK, here's how they're set. * If I have the HA switch in the M position, it's HA only, whether the MicroLink transmitter is on or not. * If I have the HA switch in the T position, it's telecoil only, whether the MicroLink transmitter is on or not. * If I have the HA switch in the O position, the HA is off...UNTIL...I press the " ON " button on the remote. Doing that turns the hearing aid on remotely (without using the switch), and the HA is in HA-only mode. * If I press the MD/T button on the remote (the switch on the HA has to be in the O position), the MicroLink feature is on WITH the HA mic. * If I press the T button on the remote (again, with the HA switch on O), it's in FM-only mode. There are also three different listening programs that I can access with the remote, which will work in conjunction with the MicroLink or just with the HA (or in combo), but I won't get into that now. Yes, it's a lot to learn, but hey, it's my kid. If I can't learn it, how can I expect him to? :-)
Guest guest
Thanks Kerri, But we do not have programmable aids or a remote so this doesn't really answer my question. I will have to email the audie. It sounds as though you have a lot of options. Barb Using the MicroLink I warn you, this is going to get confusing...but this is how my son's hearing aids are set up.
