Guest guest
Thanks for the info on your daughter's experience with her Hanger band. There is a lot more to the band that my friend had with her CT band, so I think that the sweating could be a bit worse with the Hanger bands since they cover more of the head. Just a thought. Maybe I'll try to give her multiple baths (1 in AM and 1 in PM). I'm also going to try to use baby shampoo on her band instead of alcohol. She must have sensitive skin, and I'm sure that the sweat is doing it to her. If I put cortizone cream on her, can I still put the band back on? or how long did you leave your baby's band off? Guest guest
Hi Cheryl! My daughter has been sweating less now so she's not as stinky as before. We are now down to washing her head once a day. I guess her body has just gotten used to it. Has the sweating gone down on your baby? I actually use Rx Elidel because of my daughter's eczema (only when it gets really bad since it is really recommended for children over 2 y/o....pediatrican still perscribed it). When I do use Cortizone or lotion, I just make sure to rub it in good and let it air dry on the skin before putting the Hanger band back on. In the past, I've let my daughter be free of her helmet for up to two hours. I'm still seeing great results. Can't wait for her next appt. to see what her measurements are. Take care. Guest guest
Elaine, Thanks for the info. Paige is still sweating a lot, but it's been really warm here this week. Plus, she is just now building back up to her full wearing schedule. I believe I'm going to try the powder to avoid the sweat for a while. My orthotist gave me the name of something he'd recommend (wrote it down, but it's in the other room). Then, I'll use cortizone if it gets heat rash. Thanks for walking me through how you did it. It helps quite a bit. Let us know how the appointment goes! Cheryl Paige, almost 9 mo, Hanger 10-29 > > > > > > > > Hello all! I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some > good > > > > advice.
