Hi ,

Hannah was severe at the start of treatment w/a measurement of

20mm. In her first band worn for 10 wks starting at 4.5mos, she

improved to 10mm. We went with another band which she wore until

she grew out of it at 11 mos. She didn't grow much in this band,

but did still see some improvement. We never had her measured

again, so I'm not sure what she was at when she graduated. I

started noticing her head looking worse, but we hadn't done an exit

cast so all we could do was compare pictures. The pictures

confirmed my fear and we eventually decided to band her again at 15

mos old. Regression is very rare and they aren't really sure why

some babies regress. Hannah was older at 11 mos and walking, and

didn't have tort, so I never would have considered her at risk. The

last helmet helped immensely and we're very happy we did each one.

CT says regression only happens in about 1% of babies, so for most

people it isn't something you're goign to have to worry about. I

hope that helps, and don't worry, I don't think you're being rude at

all!

to read about your situation with your daughter. I have so far read

plenty of success stories concerning helmets, but your daughter's

story has a slightly different twist to it.

with every mum on here, we know we are doing it for the right

reasons, but it doesn't make it any the easier!! A question that I

have had in my mind is that once the helmet comes off how can you

know that the head won't get misshapen again?? And I guess your

daughter is one whose head reverted back, or was there some other

reason for it? How severe was your daughter's Plagio before

banding? I have seen the pictures, and I have to say there is an

amazing improvement. Well done! What was her measure of

assymetry...can you remember?
