Guest guest
, Yes, Grace is getting red spots that don't go away even in 7 hours. I always leave the helmet off till they're gone (we're still in the gradual breaking-in phase). Yesterday, after 7.5 hours in the helmet, one of her 3 red spots developed into a giant welt that lasted all night. I'm not putting it back on her, and we have an appointment tomorrow. There are 3 Hanger clinics in Portland that treat plagio. Portland -- they do about 4-5 a week. Medford -- brand new to them. We're one of their first helmets, I'm sure. They don't seem too confident at all. And Eugene -- I think the technology is very new to them too. If Portland were closer, we should really be going there. I have so many fit questions, I'm not confident that our Ortho can answer them. The helmet opening is down the left side of Graces head, and leaves a gap of about 3/4 - 1 inch wide. It's right over one of her protruding areas, and leaves a big space on her head that's not getting pressure. Is that normal? I'll try to put up some pictures for your evaluation... Grace 8 1/2 months plagio - Hanger band Re: Re: Hanger Cranial Band Hi , What do you mean by fit issues? Is Grace getting red spots that don't go away or fade significantly in an hour? 3 weeks is a long time. I think the usually max time is 2 weeks. Does it seem to bother Grace or is she adjusting well? I didn't realize Oregon had a Hanger clinic that treated plagio. Could you please post their info in the database. I like the band. You can wash it with baby soap, and it comes in quite a few colors and patterns. Can't speak as to it's effectiveness yet, but I know it's FDA approved like the others. We're still figuring out fit issues, though. It was 3 weeks from the time she was fitted until we received the band, and I know her head grew in that time, so it's pretty tight. We got ours in Medford, Oregon.
