Guest guest
I am sure that I misspelled naturopathic, but forgive me please. My question is do any of you eschew allopathic medicine unless it is an emergency or of grave seriousness and go to alternative doctors such as a homeopath or a naturopath? And how do you feel about the medical treatment you are getting there? Here is a quick rundown maybe to help you understand where I am coming from. I had always gone to allopthic doctors and finally gave up on them since they were inattentive and making so many errors that they nearly killed me...seriously. So I tried a homeopathic doctor who is also an M.D. I didn't believe in it but thought I would try it. It worked! I was never so surprised in my life. I was so much better that it was not up for debate. Well, that was maybe seven years ago. I just never went back to the allopathic doctors, and after getting well never went back to the homeopathic doctor either. Then I was diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer a year ago and since it was so serious I went with the allopathic doctors mostly due to my daughter. I have just completed a year of treatments, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, both external and internal, then more chemotherapy. I had problems all along. The specialists were just basically technicians as far as I can tell. They knew the drugs to use, how much and how to treat the obvious stuff like neutropenia (low white blood cells due to chemo. But other than that they were of no use in helping with things like severe back pains in my flanks. They would just shrug their shoulders and say " that is not my area. " During and after treatments I developed severe joint pains, to the point of not being able to walk. Then the pain in my flanks were found to be due to many, many kidney stones brought on by chemo (according to NIH). Right now I am working my way through a severe case of shingles caused when your immune system fails to protect you against the chicken pox virus from resurfacing. When I went to the allopathic doctor about the joint pain and inability to walk or live a life he said, " well, do you want me to give you pain medications? " I said no I had those, so then he said " I suggest then that you don't walk if it hurts. " I was so angry. My daughter was with me and she held me in check until we got out the door. What I have found is that all of these doctors want to do endless MRI's, CAT's, and invasive things. None of those choices are good particularly the repeated CAT scans. So, I want to return to the treatments that are not going to kill me. I am on our state's medical health insurance but it is poor. So, my question is, would you recommend homeopathic medicine or naturopathic medicine and why? I have to get help as I am at that point that the life they may have saved with the cancer treatments took away a life worth living. Hopeless is the name of this day. I am serious. This is no life to be leading if I can't even leave the house and only leave my chair for minutes at a time and live on vicodin although it is what is keeping me, sort of sane.
