Guest guest
Dear Marta: I got such a big chuckle imagining your dog digging through the drywall to get to you! That's determination!! There are a lot of good gates out there. Check Toy's R Us. You can sometimes get them for less money there, although I'm sure Walmart is probably the cheapest. The pressure gates work really well. - PA Yeah, it's going to be difficult to keep the furkids from my room.I'm looking for some " pressure gates/walk through gates " for the bedroom and bathroom, so that I won't have to step over gates, or shut the door. Guest guest
Also try freecycle, craigslist and thrift stores. We have 8 week old doxie pups and we got 3 nice almost new gates off of freecycle for us to keep them in one area. These pop into place and have the handle where you swing open the gate part and pressure holds it up against the walls. Their nice but try fc or cl their free sections. You wouldn't believe what I've gotten off freecycle and all free. J > - PA wrote: >Dear Marta: >I got such a big chuckle imagining your dog digging through the drywall to get to you! Guest guest
Gates, they actually do keep some dogs confined but Moki will jump any single gate and even stacked one above the other, he will try to crash through at times. He has never read the rule book, either that or he read it and figured out how to break all the rules. He's an Australian Cattle Dog, tough as nails and twice as smart as me LOL. Guest guest
Thought you might get a kick out of this one. After I had to put my golden down he was 15. I went to the A.S.P.C.A. and found a dog my family would love A German Shepard female who was also half sharpie. She was a wrinkled Shepard all bones. They told me not to be surprised if she didn't come to us because she refused to go with anyone and always hid behind them growling. I said ok but I still want to see her. They brought her into the room She ran for me, knocked me down, and licked my face. The worker was really shocked. She told every one what the dog did. So they called my vet to see if I was good to my animals and my husband to see if it was o.k. for me to bring her home. (He was the one who sent me). I put on the collar and leash that I bought there. She walked to my car and jumped in. She had been severely abused by a man. She weighed 25 pounds all bones were showing. The first day home she sat outside the bathroom door and howled while I was in there. She had to sleep as close as she could get to me. Every time I closed a door such as the bathroom or bedroom she howled. Then one day I was taking a shower guess who's head was peeking around the shower curtain. I figured I didn't shut the door all the way. Later on that day when I was on the potty. In she came. That little bugger had learned to open doors by biting the doorknob. She could open the outside door too but not the screen door(yet). We had to put eye hooks on the doors. She stopped howling after a few months. She will still open any door I close if I forget to hook it. So if your dogs are as determined as mine. You may have to use eye hooks if they learn how to open the door. She still hates certain men and still whines if i go somewhere without her. I don't take her in my car because she is too strong for me to handle her. She also weighs 80 pounds. She has grown into most of her wrinkles now except for the ones on her face that she makes faces with. Gentle hugs, Ms.Katurah
