Guest guest
Does anyone have any info on Dr. Bates? I visited his website and he has a great bio <www.texasoms.com> but I wanted to talk to someone who's had a personal experience with him (or knows someone who has). My wedding's next week and I want to start this process as soon as I touch ground back in the states. I have to get rid of these headaches!!! Guest guest
TC, if you are having a jaw surgery to relieve your headaches, you need to try other things first before you have the surgery. I had a jaw surgery to move my lower jaw forward because I thought it would help me to have less headaches (I have had painful headaches all my life) but the surgery made my headaches worse and now my jaw is tighter than before my surgery and its hard for me to talk. So try other things before you have a surgery. Find what is causing your headaches then try to treat that cause of your headaches. Try massage of your neck and back, try to find foods that may be causing your headaches, try different medicines, try anything and everything before you try a jaw surgery, if that is what you are thinking of having done. in Austin, Tx. > Does anyone have any info on Dr. Bates? Guest guest
, the headaches are one of many reasons I need surgery. (It just happens to be the most painful) Just consider me a walking work in progress. I've gone through one consultation and the DDS said I have a lower jaw deficiency and need advancement 6mm. I have popping of the jaw joints and sometimes a simple yawn turns into a major production. Nothing's more embarrasing than going on a business luncheon and not being able to close your mouth!!!! I was suppose to get this done in 2000 but the fear got to me. I thought that seeing the photos and reading the personal accounts would make my decision simple. It just made me even more fearful (so I'm a wimp). Anyway the pain has finally overcome my fear. TC in Dallas, Tx > > Does anyone have any info on Dr. Bates? Guest guest
Thanx, for the advice. Like I told , I am a walking work in progress. The headaches aren't the only reason but right now they're the most painful reason. I'm getting a little frustrated though. Everyone I ask for a reference is suggesting McBride in Dallas. (I hear he is an absolutely wonderful surgeon) And of course, he's not covered by my insurance. So the way things are going now it'll be 2004 before I decide on a doc.
