....so happy to hear that 's head is looking so good.

I don't know. It is hard to tell from pictures but I don't think

her current shape looks odd. It looks like originally she was more

of a round shape with her plagio and now it looks like she is

heading for a more symmetrical oval shape. Does that make sense?

Again, hard to tell from pictures, easier in person.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Hi there

Her head looks great to me. It doens't look odd to me at all. I

think it may be that the wider bits have been caught up with the

flatness growing out and the bossing reducing- so the overall shape

is more oval and streamlined.

Also- babies do change a great deal in the second half of the first

year, especially when they start crawling and burning off all that

baby fat. No-one could believe how much my daughter's face had

changed in her time in the helmet- it was partly just due to the

fact that she grew up during those months (6 1/2 to 10 1/2 months

old). They start to become older babies and toddlers and their

facial features do get leaner and less cutie chubby- which may also

be contributing to the changes you are seeing.

I would also tell the orthotist about your concerns. If you had her

scanned, you could have another one done for comparision. You could

also ask them to calculate the cephalic index. This measures the

width against the length so should tell you if anything has changed

or there is cause for concern. There is an ideal ratio, so you can

see how your daughter compares against that. Most people here are

trying to get their babies heads to be longer and oval rather than

round- that's what correcting brachy is all about!

By the way- the improvement is really great- especially with the

forehead bossing- it looks tonnes better.

Hope this helps- do tell your orthotist about your concerns, though,

just in case we have missed anything in these pics.

Hi ,

You scared me at first too! But that is exactly what her head was

supposed to do - be longer than wider from the top view. It looks

improved than from where she started, for sure. So has

she " graduated " ? How do you feel? Look forward to hearing from you

again.
