Guest guest
Interesting. Strange but we only have 2 people coming from their area to the conference. I know when I called to let them know about us way back in January they weren't very receptive and basically told me that they wouldn't be able to help us. Privacy laws and all that. I had just asked them to tell people about our web site and the conference. Lee > Bob received a letter from Dr. Lazaridis of Mayo , Rochester. Guest guest
Dee; I honestly don't know whether Dr. Gershwin's group and Dr. Lazaridis' groups are collaborating on genetic research. Dr. Lindor's minocycline study is described at: http://mayoresearch.mayo.edu/mayo/research/lindor_lab/minocycline.cfm Hope this is what you need? Best regards, Dave R. > > Bob received a letter from Dr. Lazaridis of Mayo , Rochester. Guest guest
Lee, We are not close to Mayo, Rochester. Todd is in Orlando in college and we are in Pittsburgh. The study is all done by mail, including the blood sample. Joanne (mom of Todd, 19, psc 12/01, crohns 1/02, tx twice 12/03 and living life to the fullest in 05) Lee wrote: That's great Joanne. Wish we were close enough to participate.
Guest guest
Lee, They contacted Todd by letter asking for his participation. And it sounds as though Dee's husband just got the letter. So maybe they send out the letter of participation in stages after reviewing the candidates responses and how many people are willing to participate. Joanne (mom of Todd, 19, psc 12/01, crohns 1/02, tx twice 12/03 and living life to the fullest in 05) Did you volunteer or did they contact you? Guest guest
Dear Lee; Here's the page for Dr. Lazaridis at Mayo Clinic, describing his research towards understanding the genetic susceptibility to Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC) and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). http://mayoresearch.mayo.edu/mayo/research/staff/lazaridis_kn.cfm This sounds very similar to what Dr. Gershwin's group is now trying to do. Dr. Lazaridis and Dr. Talwalkar are both listed as members of the " Lindor Lab " staff: http://mayoresearch.mayo.edu/mayo/research/lindor_lab/staff.cfm So, one would presume that this group would eventually be contacting all of the PSC patients seen at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN? Best regards, Dave (father of (19); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03) >
