Guest guest
Dear and Wayne: When someone asks me, 'how are you?' I always answer, 'well, not so good, but I am hanging in there.' That way it sends the message that I am not 'fine' but also keeps them from having to answer anything. If they want further info, they will ask, 'what's going on?' at which I might give a short reply, or I will say something like, 'this weather is really getting to all of my aches and pains.' Nothing too specific. Then I ask how they are doing. This tends to work with most people. Since I hobble on a cane or am in a wheelchair, most people do not ask for specifics. But for those of you that do not hobble on a cane, or are not in a wheelchair, this is still a good response. - PA >Wayne writes: The one thing I'll never understand is why do the people in our life that know and are able to understand our condition still so stupid that when they see us, they always say, " Oh hi, " How are you?
