Guest guest
I'm with you, . I like the songs too. My chapter is working on new song books now. We're taking out some ot the old ones that we don't do so well on and putting in a lot of new ones.
Guest guest
We sing a song to open our meeting -- and then sing to the Best Loser --- may also sing another one along the way -- one of our older members who has suffered a stroke loves the 'pizza' song too --- we really get into them --- 'dorky or not' !!! We have FUN singing them -- sometimes we're so off key !!! Plus there are songs we have NO IDEA what the tune is -- for example, "Oh, Wisconsin' --- since we're from Texas -- do have transplanted Mass. and PA persons (and of course our neighbor - LA --) but no one from Wisconsin !!! I'm with you, !!!! Randie Re: SRD Songs, speaking of SRD songs - - - we don't even sing songs in ourchapter - - most of them really are "dorky" - - and when my chapter waschartered back in the 80's, that was one of the rules that the chartermembers made - - NO DORKY SONGS!! We always have a very full agendawithout the songs, so I certainly don't miss them! LOLSO FORGET THE SONG!!! It was just something that somebody wrote to fitthe tune they had in their head!! They're supposed to be funny andmotivational - - and sometimes hey just miss the mark!!We had a fun meeting last night - listening to three of our newestmembers talking about what a WONDERFUL experience SRD was - - they werestill bubbling and so excited about seriously losing weight and walkingacross the stage as KOPS graduates - - and they are really motivated tobe active participants in weekly meetings - - and that is what all TOPSmeetings need! It excites an old tired out-of-ideas dog like me to seesome new blood ready to come in and make a difference!!GOOD LUCK ON THAT GOOD WEIGHT LOSS YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE THIS COMINGWEEK!!!((((HUGS))) ClaraEMAIL SUPPORT TEXAS-STYLE!!THE CRAZIEST BUNCH OF "LOSERS" ON THE 'NET'!!Visit us on the web: http://www.texastops.org
Guest guest
Hey , I joined TOPS at 12 years of age also. No More Eatsa Little Pizza was my Granny’s favorite TOPS song. It is mine also. Rhonda From: TexasTOPS [mailto:TexasTOPS ] On Behalf Of Jr Sent: Friday, April 15, 2005 9:08 PM To: TexasTOPS Subject: RE: SRD Songs Well...I will agree that the TOPS songs are dorky BUT I rather enjoyed singing them and hearing the other members singing them. I came from a chapter that I was in for 12 years and we sang all the time at the meetings. We had a huge song book and a song leader and we sang 3 or 4 (my TV just turned off by itself...must be the Norton ghost haunting me because I asked about him) songs each meeting. When I came to my new chapter they didn't sing. I put song books together but no one was really into it. They thought they were dorky too. But I sure do miss them. No More Eatsa Little Pizza will always be my favorite song! And the song that says, " My 18 hour girdle just gave up and died! " CLASSIC! I started TOPS at 12 years old and, for a kid, those were pretty durn funny! They still are. I can still remember my mother dragging me around the track one night singing NO MORE EATSE LITTLE PIZZA! ! ! And thanks on wishing me good luck Clara but I tell you this....GEORGE WILL HAVE A LOSS THURSDAY AND IT WILL BE A BIG ONE AND IT'S GONNA BLOW EVEN ME AWAY! That's my prediction. Day one down. Day one I did great. All I have yet to do is the gym. I can't wait to get back there and get started. I want to make this a habit. I have already planned for my weekend. Going to a Rockets Game and to see Amityville Horror. NO FOOD FUNCTIONS AT ALL! I won't buy anything at the game or the movie theater. I never do. Too expensive and I don't like popcorn. I will eat before and I will eat healthy. Looking forward to it! Have a great weekend everyone! Guest guest
Well, I'm outvoted here - - - since everybody likes the songs so much, maybe we need to introduce a few back into our chapter meetings and see what everybody thinks about them! We only have one of those charter members left anyway, and she hardly ever comes to meetings, so I guess we can sing if everybody wants to! Only problem is, we can't even sing "Happy Birthday" with everybody in tune - - - can't imagine what a "sing-along" would sound like!! LOL The only song I ever really liked and still like is the "TOPS ENTHUSIASM SONG" - - - at least it gets people moving! I do have a couple of old TOPS song books, so will have to print some of the songs for everybody next week and see what they think! WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON "THE REST OF THIS STORY"!!! Guest guest
If anybody has any really neat songs that aren't in the old TOPS song book, would be nice to post them here along with what tune they fit - - and maybe I can introduce them to my chapters!
