Guest guest
Hi Theresa, The helmet should still work fine regardless of which side he sleeps on, as the helmet is giving him a rounded surface to rest on. As his head aligns better, his face should as well. I've heard about that happening with the transfer patterns before with red coming out more orange, etc. We recently had a member paint over the pattern b/c she didn't like the one she picked and it turned out fine. Good luck! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma > > Hello everyone! > > First, I'd just like to thank all who responded to my last email--- > your words of encouragement meant so much to me. Guest guest
Hi Theresa, My orthotist also assured me that the band would still work if my son slept on the plagio side. However, I still feel it's important to reposition him when he does. I want to get him out of the habit of just sleeping on this side. Otherwise once the band is off, there might be regression. Guest guest
Hi Theresa, sorry I missed your earlier posts so welcome to the group. I'm sure that you could paint over it and use stickers. There should be directions on our site in the files. I'm sorry it didn't turn out blue! He should still receive correction no matter how he sleeps in it. Congrats you are on your way! Sue Colin F., 14 mos. Guest guest
Hi, My daughter is also in a STARband and sleeps on one side (torticollis.) Her neurologist said that the helmet will still work fine and as her muscles loosen she will turn the other way. (which she has recently started.) As for painting it, we have a friend who painted her son's starband. It looks really cute, but chipped after about a month and has to be redone. Someone had mentioned that you can use model car paints and it won't chip off. Good luck. mom to Starbanded > > Hello everyone! > > First, I'd just like to thank all who responded to my last email--- > your words of encouragement meant so much to me.
