Maybe this will FINALLY get the drug companies to lower their horrific prices in

this

country. It is just insane how much they cost! And I think the public is

catching on,

too, that the price gouging is only happening here in America -- where the drugs

we

buy are being manufactured. Personally, I think it's Washington and the

pharmaceutical companies working in concert. Lobbying, kickbacks from profits,

etc.

If this goes through, it'll be a major victory for the American public. They

need the

money for R & D? My **s! Look at all the advertising! It's all about

corporate profits

at the expense of the public's health. " Take this and you'll be cured. " We're

being

screwed. Period.

Just had to get up on the soapbox for a few minutes! It makes me so angry!!

I agree. Maybe the drug companies should publicly disclose how much

they pay for TV/Print advertising. I doubt it would happen but if you

ban that the prices would probably come down. The next time any of

you are watching TV and see an ad just keep in mind that the ad

itself cost a few thousand dollars to make and it costs money to buy

the time to air it. Now think about how many ads air during a day.

Some companies are probably spending millions of dollars a year just

in advertising.

I already do that... with ALL products.. the ones that spend the most

bucks on commercial may peak my interest in an item.. but I'll research

and find the little guy with equivalent, or better, quality and good, or

better, service and patronize him first....

I don't want to spend extra on anything just to pay their advertising

overhead.. money is too dear to me....

IMHO

I'm also involved in a LOT of opinion polls, and those essay parts where

you get to put your two cents worth in... I get my ole soap box out and

give them the dime tour... They want folks opinions.. and they are gonna

get mine!!!! You would be proud, I think, on my responses in the three

pharmaceutical surveys/opinion polls that I've done!!!!
