UPDATE-Grants red spots-casted for new helmet

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! You all sure can make a person

feel better.

When we got Grant up Sunday morning, we noticed that the red spots nearly

went away on his forehead. By noon we could tell they were once there

because it was a little rough, but the red was gone. The spot on the back

of his head was definitely still there. We decided to put his helmet back

on him for 2 hours. After the 2 hours passed he had an even larger red

spot, in a new place because of the adjustments made. It didn't go away

for 3.5 hours. We decided to keep it off of him one more day. I called

our Orthotist this morning and went in to see her at 3:00 today to have him

casted again (I didn't want her to make a new helmet off the original cast

since his head shape did change some). We will be going in on Wednesday

afternoon at 3:00 again to have his new helmet fitted. I am glad she is

rushing the helmet so that he won't be out of it anymore. She just says

that his head is shaped a little bit differently than what she normally

sees so she is going to make the back of it lower so it grabs his head in a

different location.

I hope this works...

Thanks,

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this, but am sooo glad that

you have an ortho that is understanding and more than willing to do

it right. Good for you. I'm sure Grant is in exellent hands.

Good luck. I hope it is much much better. That's great that you are

getting a new one and not much time will be wasted. Let us know how

it's fitting!

Hi ,

Thats great your ortho is having a new helmet made. I hope this

solves all of Grant's red spot issues! Be sure to let us know how

the fitting goes. It was very wise of you to have him casted again

too, rather than make the helmet off the old cast.
