Guest guest
Hi , The symptoms I described are what happens to people who take steroids (cortisone) for therapeutic reasons. Have seen it a lot with the respiratory patients I've taken care of. Of course their doses are much higher than what I'm currently trying, but still. They have the Cushingoid faces (round, puffy), paper thin skin that bruises very easily, very poor appetites with nausea and often have blood sugar problems. Yet when they ate, they ate a lot and had carb cravings. Depression and anxiety are common also. These symptoms were right in front of my face and I still couldn't recognize it in myself. Or maybe I just didn't want to admit it because it's a sign of depression, too -- the increased cortisol issue. I wondered why I was bruising so easily over the last year or so. And again, the skin on my hands looks like a 90 year old's. I had oral surgery under general anesthesia about a month ago and the first IV attempt resulted in a blown vein, which I thought was strange. When I got home that day and took off the gauze from the IV site, I had a HUGE bruise that took at least 3 weeks to go away and even now, I can still see a shadow there. And now that I've taken hydrocortisone for a few days, my hands and face are puffing up again. Some also in my toes. It's like DUH! But these are common symptoms with steroid use so I just thought it was the hydrocortisone. And maybe it is, but if I'm getting these symptoms, like excess cortisol symptoms, then do I really need the hydrocortisone? Maybe I just don't have enough DHEA in the first place. I've seen it documented that people with depression and anxiety have higher cortisol levels. Or could it be the other way around? Maybe the higher cortisol levels are causing the depression/anxiety. And I'm sure suboptimal thyroid levels contribute to all this is my own case as well as yours. I wanted to comment, too, , about temperatures. My temp is ALWAYS 99-99.2 after I've been up for awhile. Most often I end up taking it about 8 hours after I've been up and around because I feel a little warmer. Temps in the morning have been 98.2 or so. Personally, I think I'm pretty normal temp-wise. Was 97.6 or so in the morning before I started taking Armour. Does this answer things for you? If not, please feel free to ask anything, . Guest guest
> Hi , > The symptoms I described are what happens to people who take steroids.... Thank you for writing to me about that. You know, I am just going to keep what Dr. Dery's has written about as my ray of hope. He claims that on the optimal dose, your symptoms should be completely irradicated (unless you have battled hypothyroidism for an unusually long time). My 1 1/2 grains is only a beginning according to Derry's protocol. He also claims that your adrenal function will rise and come up to snuff when on your optimal dose. I am going to believe this because it is what is giving me hope. I really need this right now in my life. Sounds silly, but I have had better spirits because of his theories etc... They make perfect sense to me. I hope you find something that will bring you out of your dark place too . We are all here for you, okay????
