Guest guest
Annette I have the jaw pain almost constantly. Even to the point where it feels as though my temple is swollen. Went to an oral surgeon and he wanted to make me splints that I would wear at night but I decided against it when I found out that insurance was only going to cover a tiny portion of it. He put me on doxepin (100 mg/night) and it did seem to help at firsst but as all meds, I think I became immune to it over time. I now take an occassional Soma when it gets to be too much and that usually does the trick. jaw pain and myositis > Hi everyone, > A short time ago someone (can't remember who) asked the group > about jaw pain. Guest guest
Hi ... I'm thinking I'm going to have to call the doctor about my jaw. It's really getting bad. There's a very tender spot on my cheek just near my ear and it's getting hard to chew. It even hurts when I swallow. I hate making another doctor's appt. (too busy right now to take the time) but I'm afraid to wait too much longer. What have doctors told you about your jaw pain if anything? Guest guest
Just that it is consistent with TMJ which can be a relared problem due to the PM. If I open my mouth too far (who meeeee!!!) I can actually lock it open. My hubby hopes this doesnt happen often !!! The muscles get sooooooo sore especially when I have had a meal where I have done a lot of chewing and I pay for it for the next few days !!! jaw pain and myositis > > > > Hi everyone, > > A short time ago someone (can't remember who) asked the group > > about jaw pain. Guest guest
Annette, I have had jaw pain for several years. I have problems with muscles being weak and not responding appropriately. This includes my jaw muscles. They want to clench all the time even when I am awake, but it do it worst when I am asleep. I definitely think it is related to the myositis. I was diagnosed with fibro in 1993 and I didn't start to have problems with my jaw until the myositis symptoms started. Gentle hugs, Fern
Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I never connected this...sometimes a terrible ear pain will wake me at night. Like my ear is folded in half or something...have mentioned it to my doc, she's looked, but said nothing's wrong. It's always on my right side where I have the most jaw pain. I have to be careful how wide I open my mouth to yawn now, too. Really hurts! Really strange!!! Lynn --- anzavic@... wrote: > > Hi Annette... Guest guest
Hi Lynn I also get the jaw pain when I open my mouth... which is often. My muscles are always sore. It's my left ear that gets me at night but my right ear is also affected. I'm just glad to finally know what it is. Doctors couldn't find a thing. Now I can tell them ... lol Vicki
