Because of the rampant drug abuse in this area doctors are afraid that if they prescribe narcotics they will find their way onto the streets. My Doctor had me sign a contract that I would only have him prescribe my meds and use only 1 pharmacy. If I break this contract, he will stop my medications. I have found out from other groups that a lot of doctors are doing this now. Yes, my doctor has me sign the same contract about pain medication. And the doctors that I have had have been VERY cautious about pain medications, too. Although since RSD pain is considered severe, it usually doesn't fall into the ' do we, or don't we? treat with medicine category. I am just grateful that I am still on a relatively low dose for having RSD for over 13 years. Lynn W.
