Guest guest
Hey All, First I want to say thank you to all of you who responded about doctors in Dallas. We have decided to go with doctor Hobar. I understand that we will see the nurse practioner the first time and then if need be we will see Dr. Hobar himself. We have the referal from our ped being faxed to our insurance company today so I should hear shortly if they approve of us going to see him. I am going to make the appointment today even though we won't hear from the insurance company today, but that way it is made and I won't have to wait a really long time to get in after they approve it. I figure I can always cancel the appointment if need be. We are hoping to make the first appointment in January because of the holiday's and traveling to Tennessee for Christmas. Yesterday I was talking with a lady at my older daughter's school. Her son had Craniosynostosis and had surgery on the front part of his skull. She told me that with my younger daughter her forehead area looks a lot like her son's did and she was worried about her having it. I have noticed it and am worried about it as well. It doesn't look right to me and I don't think it is just from the plagio/brachy she has going on with the back of her head. Any way sorry this is so long of an email. I hope to maybe get to meet some of you in Dallas sometime. Johanna mommy to Annlayse plagio/possible brachy/possible cranio Find the music you love on MSN Music. Start downloading now! Guest guest
Hi Johanna, I really hope it's just plagio! Good luck with your insurance and working all the details out. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the appointment, especially with the cranio worry weighing on your mind. Let us know what happens. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma >
Guest guest
Johanna, I haven't been around for little bit so I didn't realize that you were moving forward with helmet therapy for lyse. I'm sorry to hear it but glad that you are already so educated about this and know what needs to be done. I hope that you can get xrays or a CT scan to rule out cranio. I'm sorry that woman scared you; most likely needlessly. Take care and good luck with the future appointments. Sue Colin F. 14 mos. Guest guest
Hi Johanna That is great that you got things rolling. I've heard that docs name around here, and can recall parents being very happy with him. Let us know when you get an appointment, and I'm sooo hoping you will post that Tricare takes care of family members like they should. Guest guest
Johanna, If Annlyase has forehead bossing that is on the same side of the head as the flatness that is consistent with plagio. Cranio usually has the bossing and no corresponding flatness. There is an article on it in the links section. The example they use is with rear head bossing but they do have some general guidelines for the differences. It may put your mind at ease. Either way it's good you are going to see the specialist.
