Guest guest
, Your Doctor can also do a justification letter as Lyrica is brand name and on patent and the drug companies charge for years before they go off patent. Call you insurance company and ask to speak to a nurse manager and tell them that the the one drug works over the other. Most insurance companies have these justification forms and have to be reviewed every year. This is why it is important to document this in your medical records or a pain diary that a medication or a different medication works. Lyrica has to add more side effects since it first came out and am sorry it did as it has an accumulative hormonal effect and causes swelling in hands and feet, visual disturbances, and weight gaing that is hard to get off but it helped my fibro flare and I had to ge off. Lyrica is the newer of the two but Gabapentin should not be denied by your insurance company.
