Guest guest
I've been overweight a good deal of my life. Some of it is due to my PCOS and insulin resistance. I started taking the drug Metformin/Glucophage to treat it, with great results. I lost 15 pounds afterward, in addition to 10# before that on Atkins. But for over a year since, I haven't been able to lose any more weight no matter what, although I did maintain it at the same level (an accomplishment in itself). Interestingly enough, I've already lost about 5 pounds since the surgery. Unfortunately, the pathology lab didn't weigh my fibroid, so I don't know how much was from that. I'm sure some of it was also from the swelling of the uterus muscle and internal bleeding. Also, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, and eating less are other factors. In addition, I actually feel like I want to exercise now (for a change), but can't until I recover. What an odd predicament for me (a first)! Aside from all of that above, have others noticed it was easier to lose weight after fibroid removal/treatment? I'd be better off if I could get rid of another 30 or so pounds. It would be nice to look forward to another benefit!!! , RN from Michigan
Guest guest
Please, I warn you to be careful of losing to much weight to fast. After my myo in Sept of 2000 I lost 30 pound in about 30 days. You see I really didn't have and appetite. after which I gain that and much more back. My advice, Is to get on a healthy diet and stay on it. After which, I'm doing much better even though the fibroids have returned.
