Guest guest
Hi Ivonne Congratulations on starting out on banding ' head-that is great news and I'm sure you will see results pretty quickly. As for the looseness, there has to be space in it for the flat bits to grow. That's what will make them line up with the prominent parts in the end- all bands use natural growth to help the rounding. You sound like you are off to a flying start- no red spots etc Hannah (mum to Lucia, London, UK) Plaigo, Cranio helmet, 4th July '04 > > was banded yesterday with a DOC band!!!! Guest guest
Ivonne, Congratulations! It sounds like you're off to a great start. It is such a relief when our babies take so well to the band isn't it? The band is usually a little loose at first since there is space for their flat spot to grow into - it's normal and it doesn't prevent the band from working properly. Guest guest
That is so funny about your husband. Isn't it great that his DOCband treatment coincided w/football season? LOL Yes, it is normal for it to be a little loose. We had a STARband and I was concerned with the slight shifting.looseness. But as long as it doesn't fall below their eyebrows/eyes or move too close to their ears, it should be fine. And no red marks is the best!! It sounds like a great fit and I'm so glad that he is tolerating it just fine. I look forward to hearing your updates. Sue Colin F. 1 tomorrow! Guest guest
Ivonne, Congratulations on getting banded yesterday. I'm happy to hear that he adjusted so well and hasn't even had any red spots. That's great!! 's band was loose when we got it and after one week she had already started to fill it out and it needed to be adjusted. They cut some foam out and it was loose once again. Five days later, I can already see her starting to fill it out more. Their little heads grow so quickly and it's better to have it a little loose than too tight. I was told this is normal. Guest guest
YEAH!!! I can't wait to see the pics. LOL - husbands are funny. Wow I'm so happy to hear he is adjusting well. Yes, there should be a little room for growth. It shouldn't wobble or rotate a lot (like more than 1/2 - 1 " ) but some is completely normal. Also if he is very active it may slide around a bit more than normal. If he has no red spots then all should be good. mom to na DOC Grad SC www.thefilyaws.com > > was banded yesterday with a DOC band!!!! Guest guest
Hi Ivonne, I'm so glad is adjusting so well to his DOCband. The " looseness " is normal. Here it part of a post I did earlier today to someone else: Well, with a DOCband the helmet is made to a rounded version of the baby's head, so it's not really them making it big. If you look in Hannah's plagio kids folder the top view shot of her wearing her band shows it well. The more severe the baby, the more shifting you'll probably get. Hannah was severe, and the band was made to a rounded version of her crooked noggin, so it really only made contact on her head in those bulging areas where they were trying to prevent the growth. It basically teetered between that bulge on her back left and her protruding forehead on the front right. As her flat areas filled in more and became more rounded, the round helmet began to fit her better and shift less. I hope this makes sense! Hope that helps Ivonne! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad 7/29 Cape Cod, Ma > > was banded yesterday with a DOC band!!!! Finally!!!!!!!!! we made it!!!!!!!!! > > Everything went so smoth!! Guest guest
Ivonne, That is so great that has adjusted to the band already. We painted 's band like the Dallas Cowboy's Helmet too!!! It looks so cute. I am not able to post a pic yet, but when you do let us know. I would love to see it! You can definitely still paint it as the helmet even though it isn't a full helmet. We did a star on the one side. The stripes in the back and the front and then in the back on one side we wrote, " Go Dallas " . It looks great.
