Guest guest
Hi Tina: I've been involved w/the plagio board for 4 yrs since my daughter's dx back in 2000. Recently, I rec'd a phone call from Abby's ped. neuro/craniofacial specialist who knew how involved w/plagio awareness I was who wanted me to take a look at a product he has spent many yrs developing. I went to his office about 2 mos ago and saw his product first hand. He's done many test studies on it with good success. IF I was to have another child, I'd w/o hesitation, purchase one of these. His website is http://www.sleepshaper.com for more info & ordering info. It is a bit expensive, but I do think it's got a lot of potential and is honestly, the best plagio prevention product I've seen to date. I'd definitely pay the money for peace of mind and prevention HTH. Good luck & congrats. Guest guest
Hi Tina, I received a memory foam sleep positioner as a shower-gift and used it from day one with my son . Unfortunately, he still developed Plagio. Maybe it would have been even worse without the positioner, but fact is, it didn't do the trick. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Tina, In addition to the one Debbie suggested, there is another new product out which you can see at www.nightform.com . Our repositioning moderator Christie is currently using one for her newborn son and has had great things to say about it. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " ttude144 " <tjpollard@f...> wrote: > > Hi, > My daughter wore a helmet for plagio with great success. Guest guest
I used the One Step Ahead sleep positioner. The only thing that I didn't like was that the pillow was small so once she was about 2 months she could roll her head off of it. My 1st born, Aidan, was my child with plagio and my daughter who was born in January has a beautifully shaped head. I was very adamant about her being off the back of her head as much as possible for the first two months, then I didn't care. I would switch sides for every feeding (still do at 10 months) whether you are breast or bottle. When feasible I would let her sleep on my chest for naps so that I could rotate the side she would be sleeping on. We also started tummy time from day one so she never resisted it. I didn't use the swing or bouncy chair at all the first two months besides an occasional time while making dinner when my toddler was under my feet. While in the swing/bouncey she used a noggin nest. Good luck and I hope that helps! Natasha > > > > Hi, > > My daughter wore a helmet for plagio with great success. Guest guest
We used the sleep positioner with the memory foam too. It was from Target. It didn't work either. If only I knew then what I know now. I would never use the bouncy seat etc. and I would have started Tummy time early. They never even mentioned Plagio in the Lamaze/infant care class. We didn't know. I wouldn't rely on the memory foam. Janna Mom to Kellan St. Louis, Local Helmet > > > > > > Hi, > > > My daughter wore a helmet for plagio with great success.
