Guest guest
Sandy- I would try a rheumatology. I have also had the experience of doctors getting irritated with me. I think they are irritated that there is nothing that they can do to help. They wish we would not come around for appointments so often. They want to fix problems. We can't be fixed. I have a hard time accepting that I can't be fixed They don't want an extensive medical history. They are in a hurry. They only want relevent facts. We all have to accept that there is no cure only some relief of some symptoms. I ask too many questions, They don't like that either. So, I try to give them the most important information. Good luck. Margaret Hi,I dont know what to do about going back to my ortho neurology doctor.he prescribed me a tens unit with muscle stimulator. My insurance wouldnt pay for it, and I had to send it back,, he waited 3 months to send the doctors notes in on it,, the insurance is not going to pay for it, but the company I got it from waived the 3 months,, Im still afraid he will be mad at me. I chose not to go to Physical therapy as he wanted, I would love to go but cant afford it.on my first visit I think I got on his nerves because I was talking about my medical history to much, his hands were cold when he was examining my neck and I asked him why and he said he was anxious, his body language also showed I irritated him, , so I think I got off to a bad start with him, then the next visit, only half my blood work came in,the hospital lost it, and he was aggravated that I didnt go to physical therapy ,he wanted {them to evaluate me},, Ive been 6 times over the years, and now my husbands insurance has changed to another insurance, that has a co pay of 40 a visit, and if I have to go 2 or 3 times a week, I cant afford that,, so, I dont know what to do,,the GP that I have now, said I had a blood clot because one leg is bigger than the other and swells, I had the test and I have no blood clot,, the hospital changed me 350.00 for that,,he barely looked at my leg, and said you only have 15 minutes, I have other patients,,so I do need treat ment for fibro, but Im so tired of tests that dont show anything, My previous GP referred me to testing for my pinkie being numb and blue,I had a Nerve conductor test that showed I had neuropathy. From my shoulder to my hand, The GP that referred me for testing for neuropathy got irritated at me,and yelled at me, because I wouldnt go to a psychologist because he said I was in denial of my somatic symptoms. I said I didnt need a shrink, he said I was too happy for all the things that were going wrong with me,, so he was peed because I was upbeat?I was upbeat because he gave me a test for the numb pinkie. I had hope I was getting somewhere, the GP I had before him, said it was arthritis.I Irritated him too at times.so should I find another GP,, or find another neurologist? Or stay with these two? or go back to the one that yelled at me,at least he got a test for something I really needed, I told him I had been going to the other doctor and a nurse at my Fibromyalgia meeting said , it wasnt arthritis or fibro, but I cant afford a shrink right now,, my insurance would only pay half. After dealing with doctors all these years I would love to go, but I cant afford it.Ive love to find a doctor that I could get to treat me, for years, but I dont have the patience to put up with their moods,,thanks Sandy

Guest guest
thank you Margaret You are exactly right about everything you said. My kidney doctor suggested that I go to a rheumatology a year ago, instead of going to the neuro-ortho doctor, {{I should have listened to him,}} for a doctor he is the best one Ive found so far, but hes not treating me for fibro, maybe thats why he is the best. thats an excellent point " they get irritated at us cause they cant fix us " I never thought of it that way,, maybe one day they will find out how to, but until then we just have to wait it out. thanks so much for bringing that to my rememberance I cant remember from one year to the next,, Sandy > > > Sandy- > > I would try a rheumatology.
