I don't think this is going to be relevant to Shona, but when she mentioned

about the hives not touching the face, it triggered me to write and say that

apparently scabies does not affect the face. The symptoms - harsh itching,

burning, red trails under the skin etc - feel and can look a lot like

urticaria. I had scabies immediately before my urticaria really kicked in,

and I honestly thought I still had scabies even after two treatments for it

because the symptoms were almost identical.

In fact, I think the scabies might have been (one of) the final trigger(s)

for my urticaria now, which is why there was an overlap between them. I had

scabies and then even though I still had scabies I also developed an itching

head, and if scabies doesn't affect you above the neck then I must have had

something else as well.

So - just another thing to make sure you eliminate early on.
