I didnt opt for the tub things becuz my tub is so nasty!!!! yuck yuck yuck, vintage 1955 needs reenameled baddddd. but my spa is hot hot hot ;-) and yes it does help but its not a cure all at all, it hhelps with leg cramps a tad though. > ----- Original Message ----- > > > Anyone out there have a hot tub? Guest guest
JD and others, I understand about the body aching because of my fibromyalgia and huge nerve involvement in my limbs because of my progressed scoliosis. But I want to share with you the advantages of physical exercise and water exercise. In one year I have done so much better. I use a treadmill at home and started real slow and very briefly 5-8 minutes. Now I am doing much better. The water is non-gravity situation, no impact on the joints, very soothing, and somewhat challenging to the breathing. I just went to a lecture today on water exercise and got very inspired. I have a fitness pool in the yard now so I must make it pay. The unstructured attempt I have made to use it has always made me feel good. I am going to preach constantly to Anne until she listens to me. Because of her tumor in the abdomen she is very self-conscious (she doesn't admit to this of course). There is a wonderful video called Gentle Fitness Which I just lent to program director today. If you are interested, write me and I'll personally send you the information. It cost $29 and the second one is $5. It combines fitness exercise with Tai Chi and Yoga. Keep moving, group. Love, Vicki
Guest guest
Jennette and , Thanks for your inputs. I have a newer home and it has a " garden " tub in one of the bathrooms. It looks perfect for what you described Jennette. What brand or options do you recommend? Also, I was hoping to buy a Jacuzzi and put it out by the pool. If I can't get insurance to pay for it, I'm thinking of looking into seeing if I could still write it off of my income taxes under medical deductions. I think if you have a prescription from the doctor it would qualify. Anyone know if that's possible? Otherwise my limited budget will dictate it to be the add on tub one. My WHOLE body aches ALL of the time, day and night. So sometimes I think it'd really help. Guest guest
Vicki, Me again, I think people are going to get tired of seeing my name. BUT I got lots of questions.... Could you explain to me your fibromyalgia? Who diagnosed you? Reg doc or neuro? What are the symptoms? I wake up at night and my body is like it's paralyzed and aches all over REALLY BAD. I can't roll over and my wife has to help me get going again, movement wise. But the ache in my joints still hurt. Is it like that? Hey I think I just remembered a song from the sixties..... " the ache in my joint still hurt, " umm, maybe it was country western...... Also, I am fortune it in that our house had a pool when we bought it. I find swimming to be very beneficial too.
