My understanding is that doctors will generally not remove fibroids during a

c-section because there

is so much blood in the uterus (or having gone to it during the pregnancy) that

the risk of bleeding

out is too high.

Normally they don't; however, a lady in our German-language group just had a

large fibroid removed during a c-section, with very little bleeding. It took

her five months to find the specialist in Vienna, Austria, who did the

surgery though.

If you live in the States, Vienna will be too far. But it seems to me that

there are more fibroid specialists in the States than in Europe, so you may

be lucky and find someone who can do it.
