Guest guest
Hi EveryOne, I did well with Nutrimeds Porcine Thyroid and Bovine Adrenal too for several years. I just reordered the Bovine Adrenal to add to either Cortef or Isocort (right now I am taking 5mg. Cortef am and 3 Isocort around 1pm) I also take DHEA 25mg. per day. However, in the Bovine Adrenal which like Armour is dessicated whole gland there may be things that are not in the Cortef and Isocort. I feel the Nutrimeds Bovine Adrenal may be better than the other Adrenal supplements I have tried at least for me. I plan to take them all for awhile, and then stop the Cortef and then maybe the Isocort and keep taking the Bovine Adrenal for several months. To me, natural is preferable. Right now, it is allergy season here and I find the Cortef helps a lot with that. If necessary, I will take both Armour Thyroid and Nutri-meds adrenal all my life. I am concerned about the Bovine and BSE- mad cow disease but decided to take the risk. Still would prefer my Thyroid and Adrenal supplements from Organic Cows and Pigs!!! I've imported a good supply of Armour Thyroid but it won't last forever. I am considering a holistic doctor in my town just in case the supply from importing dries up. I hate to spend the money for a doc when I'm doing just fine on my own but will need Armour one way or the other one of these days. It is good to remember Nutrimeds as a backup. They are not as strong as Armour but one could always take more!!! I have heard of people taking 6-8 Nutrimeds a day, probably more or less equivalent to Armour 3-4 grains. One way or another.............Health!!! Guest guest
Bev.. a bit of info to ease your mind with the Bovine Glandular (I also take them, from Nutri-meds, and have for over a year now). With two years being the recommended period of time to supplement fatigued adrenals ... I still have a way to go.. this is some info that I got last summer.. I've posted it a couple of times.. but it's time to post again... I has greatly eased my mind. Topper () ********************* On July 24, 2003 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency enacted regulatory provisions for the removal of Specified Risk materials (SRM) from Cattle carcasses in establishments inspected under the Meat Inspection Regulations,1990. SRM means the skull, brain, trigeminal ganglia, eyes, tonsils, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia of cattle aged 30 months or older and the distal ileum of cattle of all ages. These tissues are designated as SRM because in Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE aka Mad Cow) cattle. The brain, trigrminal gangia, eyes, tonsils, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia contain the BSE agent and may transmit the disease. The skull is designated as well because of the high probability of it becoming contaminated at the time of stunning and during manipulation of the other tissues if their separate removal was permitted. In order to prevent certain tissues that may contain BSE infectivity from entering the human food chain, operators of establishments will be required to remove SRM's from the carcass and treat these material as inedible meat products. For the purpose of this policy, cattle are considered to be age 30 months or older when they have more than 2 of their permanent incisor teeth erupted (ie the 1st pair of permanent incisors and at least one tooth from the second pair of incisors) brain, trigeminal ganglia, eyes, tonsils are removed from the skull and the spinal cord requires removal in its entirety. In order to ensure complete removal of the dorsal root ganglia, the vertebral column of cattle aged 30 months or older, excluding the vertebrae of the tail, the transverse processes of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae and the wings of the sacrum must be removed and disposed of as an inedible product. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is working with Saskatchewan Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization and Saskatchewan Health to ensure the introduction of these provisions and the comprehensive application of the removal of Specified Risk Material in all cattle slaughtered in Saskatchewan. Guest guest
Could someone tell my how to substitue the nutri-meds supplements for my armour while I'm out of it? 8) > Bev.. a bit of info to ease your mind with the Bovine Glandular (I also > take them, from Nutri-meds, and have for over a year now). Guest guest
Hi, If I remember Toppers comparison correctly, I think she said that it was either 1 to 1 or, give or take, approximately 1 to 1.5 NutraMed. This would be dependent upon the person and how sensitive they are to the slight change in the product. Guest guest
Assuming Porcine thyroid tabs from Nutri-Meds.. count 1 and 1/2 tabs as a grain. Use that as your start and if it's a bit weak after a couple of weeks up it a bit... Sublingual is the best way to take any of the glandulars.... It's processed the same way as Armour and the Generic I take now.. but my last test did show it weaker... I had to increase the tabs to get rid of the hypo symptoms that were coming back. Even though it's weaker than the prescription grade.. it's still pretty good stuff.. I was taking it for a full year before I was made an offer to get generics at a better price by a friend.... Since my thyroid was killed off by RAI.. I was reacting ONLY to the Nutri-meds and I did GOOD!
