Hi Jen,

I'm so glad to hear that Miles' surgery went so well. I hope you're

able to get his STARband adjusted ASAP to do away with those red

spots. Maybe it's a sign he's had a big growth spurt!

I'm glad it's going well and you decided on the starband, I'm sure

he will do great! The surgery must have been difficult for all of

you.

started daycare 2 weeks ago and is doing well, though I feel

like everyone sees him as the " helmet baby " . :( I miss him like

crazy. I have also met several people who have been banded.

Good luck!

Hi Jen,

I'm happy to hear that Miles surgery went smoothly. Sounds like his

band is working out well. Are you going in for an adjustment for

the spots?

JEN!

I'm so happy to hear it. It's sounds like you're off to a great

start. Sucks to be back at work, huh? But having more computer time

is a GREAT silver lining. Well Colin started at 9 mos. old and we

stopped 11 wks. later. I know you shouldn't compare though and I

would HIGHLY recommend NOT having a deadline in your head bcz it

makes it harder (in my opinion)on you and others you might tell. Kind

of like your e.d.d. when everyone says " is the baby HERE YET?!?! " So

who knows, could be longer, could be shorter but the important thing

is he is rounding out nicely as we speak!!! I'm glad it is going so

well bcz it makes it so much better for you (sigh of relief). GL and

keep us posted.

Jen,

Miles is liking daycare too, though he's only gone 2 days so far.

He's the only one who DOESN'T cry (one little girl cries ALL day,

they say). It's a tiny bit easier to leave a baby who is smiling

and happy, but not much! He is happy to see me when I come in the

afternoon as I'm sure is. How is your class this year? I'll

start taking my ESL kids next week. Monday is back to school night,

what a silly night to pick!

I know what you say about people seeing him as helmet baby. I used

to get stopped nonstop about how cute he is (I don't have to be

modest here, do I?) but now I notice more people doing that " I'm not

staring...I'm just looking around laa dee da... " stare which I have

been known to do in my time and have to stop since it's SO obvious!

But for the most part, they think he's still a cutie...he has SOME

smile, that one, even after all this.

Good luck with school...talk to you soon.

Thanks for the kind words Natasha.

We go tomorrow (Friday) for our first follow up. They look better

and seem to go away quicker so we'll see what the orthotist says!

Leigh,

We live in Brick but went to Nouveau Prostetics and Orthotics in I

believe Hazlet. It's on rt. 36 over there near Keyport. Not the

busiest place in the world (in the 3 times i've been there, I

haven't seen any other " patients " ) but they seem nice and the Dr. in

Hackensack said it was made correctly - nice and symetrical. Glad

to have the second opinion of the fancy Dr. Where have you gone for

the band?

We should start a NJ playgroup!

Thanks for the kind words. Oh I remember those " When's the baby

coming " days! My SIL gets it worse...this last one (#5) was almost

2 weeks late!

:)
