Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have a question about Cortisol. I have had my cortisol tested. It was always low and I was advised by this group to start Isocort. Before I even began Isocort, I began a myriad of health troubles. I now have a condition called Lichens Sclerosus. The treatment for that is a high dose ointment called Clobestasol Propionate 0.5%. According to all I read it is pretty potent. The package insert even warns against Pituitary suppression if taken for long periods. I have been told to use it for 3 months. (The package says no more than 2 weeks). From all of my searching, my Doc is right in his rx, though. I am on Synthroid 100 as well as 1/2 grain Armour every day. I am at risk for a thyroid dump? I really NEED the Armour. I lost the rx for about 3 weeks and my thyroid swelled so bad I could barely swallow (Hashis), then this new condition came on. Should I cut back? Should I wait a certain pd of time and have my cortisol tested? One way or the other I think my cortisol will be on the way up. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. Guest guest
Bad as I hate to say this enough Armoru may CURE your skin problems. Hypothyroid is rtesponsible for so many different health ailments and you are not being treated properly for your hypo. Possibly wiht very low cortisol levels you wouldn't tolerate enough Armoru to feel well anyway.HBut befire i woud take a high power steroid to shut down the immune system, I would certainly try a few months on HC and Armoru, using physiological dosing . Your doctor's treatment is most likelyt going to put you into needing steroids ofr life, where as you can try low dose HC and possibly be able to wean off them eventually. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
