Guest guest
Can someone tell me if digital thermometers are lower on average than mercury thermometers or higher? Ever since I've been doing what someone suggested of leaving the digital in my mouth for 5 minutes before turning it on, I'm getting higher temps and I'm wondering if it's accurate. Also, I was wondering, after leaving it in your mouth for the five minutes, should you take it out and press the button to clear it and then put it back in your mouth or should you leave it in your mouth while pressing the button. Thanks!
Guest guest
I never heard of leaving the digital in the mouth for 5min. and directions don't read that way on them. I find the digitals to be accurate for me. --- buidoi_72 wrote: > Can someone tell me if digital thermometers are > lower on average than > mercury thermometers or higher? Many people do this unknowingly and I don't know if you did so also! I have heard this also and I do wonder how true it is especially is one is careful to keep the tongue still? I have tried that with both my mercury thermos and they give different readings. Mo
Guest guest
I got the info from Bill, who quoted it from Steve in the previous threads about mercury thermometers. How will you know if your digital thermometer is accurate? I am getting higher readings when I leave it in my mouth. Not sure if that is correct. > > > Can someone tell me if digital thermometers are > > lower on average than > > mercury thermometers or higher?
