Guest guest Posted October 8, 2010 Report Share Posted October 8, 2010 Carol, What is DDD? No, I need the spinal fusion to get rid of severe neck/back of head pain. I was born with my neck fused and now that I'm older and have arthritis I am having intense pain. I am on strong meds but want to look at other options. The doctor at Mayo suggested the fusion and I want to weigh all my options before I decide. On days when the fronts move through Illinois, my pain meds are worthless and I am in tears. I mean I am on heavy meds and I am begging for someone to put me out of my misery. I mean if I were rich, I could hire my own assassin! LOL. Anyway, this doctor seemed to think it would be a positive change I could make. Just not sure if I buy it all and want to make an informed decision. I have had injections, blocks, etc. and they have never done anything. Once the local wears off, I'm back to square one. That's why I am a skeptic.
