Guest guest
My son's head (and band) stinks no matter how much I clean the band (DOC band) or him. I have tried toothbrushes, rough washclothes, lots of alcohol, etc and it still smells. Granted we are in a heat wave in CA and he gets a bit sweaty but I can't stand it. Any suggestions???? Guest guest
91% alcohol?? That is all that we have used (with white paper towels only) and it's not that stinky. GL!!! Guest guest
Gawd, been there. He smelled exactly like the dumpster behind my grocery store. I got the Aveeno baby shampoo with " oatmeal extract " and it worked like a charm. Let it sit on his head for a few minutes before rinsing it off. Also make sure the helmet is all the way dry before putting it back on. Sunlight works best--kills weird odor- causing aliens in the foam or something. If you find out what oatmeal extract is, let me know, okay? I squeezed some here and all I got out was water. If the shampoo didn't work so well, I'd suspect a scam. But it works! , 21 mos, DOC Grad 9/7 > My son's head (and band) stinks no matter how much I clean the band > (DOC band) or him. Guest guest
My orthotist who also had her daughter banded, swore by Loreal watermelon shampoo for kids. I thought she was nuts till I tried it. Every night my twins would be shampooed with the stuff while my husband would wash the helmets with it... It took a little longer for the helmets to dry, but it worked for us.
