Guest guest
They haven't a clue. Simply put. I don't know how long you have been dealing with your condition, but if you are dealing with it for as long as I have and WILL have to, eventually, you'll see what I mean and ones life tends to mold itself around those that are good people. Plus, our lives suddenly repel those that want to bring us down. It is a great " survival instinct " that we have inside us! I love it. I guess, like Wayne and a few others who have dealt with this for so long, we realize that in the end if we CHOOSE to try and explain all of us to others, we would be hitting our heads on cement walls! There are always going to be people who do not get it, unless they to really GET IT, and then the realization of how we live will crash down upon them. A terrible thought but sadly probably the only one that will work We at least get better reactions when someone passes on, (because we have been trained and conditioned to do so); not with people in pain. You see people in pain are: 1. Play acting 2. Looking for Sympathy 3. Being devious and trying to collect disability; because we so want to collect ALL THAT MONEY!!! 4. Psychologically imbalanced 5. Lazy 6. Any other excuse We do ourselves a great disservice in trying to change the minds of those people who harbor improper thoughts. All we are doing is adding STRESS to our already delicate conditions. We, however are not delicate by any means. We are tough, enduring, and full of strength. We sadly have no choice in this matter and we do, over the years develop into remarkable people and we should all pat ourselves on the back for being who we are!!!! To those souls who do not get it, shame on you as you are missing out on some great and wonderful people who are empathic and caring and so many out there in the real world are not. Our hearts are big and our shoulders are broad as we can carry ourselves and others who need our caring on our backs. If we have people in our lives that do get it,we are richer by far. For those of us that do not, we are not poorer but tough and strong. We have learned not to waste time when we know there is no time to wait. We have learned not to waste our breath explaining ourselves to those who have space in the sympathy/empathy part in the brain. It is sad that some of our family is dense, it is sad that some, if not all of our friends are dense, but we are not dense. Life to too precious to waste. Breath to valuable to waste. Hearing the important things in our lives is most important, so why waste time listening to someone who is clueless, and self-centered? Our eyesight is valuable so why waste time seeing people who will not change? Is not the smell of fresh air better than the smell of indifference? Let us use our senses in good ways. Let's cultivate the best in us and around us, rather than waste time, which is too valuable, hoping that people will change. These few that do change, want to change and they do it because it is right for them. We can not make people do anything, feel anything or change anything as we are powerless over all except oursleves. Let's spend time with these who understand and accept us. Let's spend time improving ourselves. Let us be the best we can be, and all the others, well, that's up to them. Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies within us while we live. Peggy
